Protection of salad and green crops in film greenhouses

The quantity and quality of the harvest of salad and green crops depends on many factors. One of the most important and dangerous problems are diseases that reduce the yield of products, impair their appearance and nutritional value, and cause rapid spoilage during storage. Significant damage is caused by root rot, caused by soil pathogens of fungal origin (genusFusarium, Pythium debaryanum, Rhizoctonia solani, Verticillium alboatrum) and bacterial origin (Pectobacterium, Pseudomonas). Pathogens penetrate the plant through the roots and affect the vascular system, causing plant wilting and even death. Plants can also be affected by diseases such as powdery mildew (Erysiphe umbelliferarium, communis) and gray rot (Botrytis cinerea), which can lead to a loss of marketable appearance of products and also to the death of plants.

Pests of salad and green crops include aphids, wireworms, slugs, beet leaf miners, cruciferous flea beetles, and whiteflies.
