Protecting peppers in film greenhouses
Peppers, like most crops, can be affected by fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases.
Root rot can spread significantly if water and temperature conditions are not met, causing the death of both young and mature plants. Caused by pathogens such as Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium debaryanum, Verticillium albo-atrum, and Rhizoctonia solani. Peppers can also be affected by bacterial diseases, powdery mildew, late blight and gray rot. tracheomycotic wilt is often encountered.
Among bacterial diseases, the most common are bacterial cancer (Clavibacter michiganensis), bacterial black spot (Xanthomonas vesicatoria), soft or watery rot of fruits (Pectobacterium carotovorum).
Viral diseases: tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), tomato bronze virus (TSWV).
