Protecting garden strawberries in film greenhouses

Garden strawberries can be affected by fungal, bacterial and viral diseases.

Root rot and wilting can become widespread if water and temperature conditions are not met, causing the death of both young and mature plants. Caused by pathogens such as Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium debaryanum, Verticillium albo-atrum, Rhizoctonia solani, Phytophthora coctorum, Phytophthora fragaria. 

Among bacterial diseases, the most common are: bacterial root canker (Agrobacterium tumefaciens), bacterial blight of strawberry (Erwinia amylovora).

Viral diseases: leaf wrinkle disease (SCV), strawberry mosaic disease (SMV), thale cress mosaic disease (AMV). 

Pests that are most often found on strawberries: strawberry whitefly, strawberry mite, strawberry leaf beetle, strawberry nematode.
