Protecting eggplant in greenhouses

Among the eggplant diseases there are fungal, viral and, less commonly, bacterial ones.

Root rot can spread significantly if water and temperature conditions are not observed, causing the death of both young and adult plants. Caused by pathogens such as Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium debaryanum, Verticillium albo-atrum, Rhizoctonia solani.

Also encountered are diseases such as gray rot (Botrytis cinerea), white rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum), black mold (Rhizopus niricanc), anthracnose, verticillosis, .

Among bacterial diseases, the most common is wet or watery rot of fruits (Pectobacterium carotovorum).  

Viral diseases: viral mosaic (tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), virus cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), leaf necrosis (potato virus Y), necrotic spot (tobacco ringspot virus).
