Protecting peppers in greenhouses

Protecting peppers in greenhouses

Peppers, like most crops, can be affected by fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases.

Viral diseases: tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), tomato wilt virus (TSWV).

Root rot can spread significantly if water and temperature conditions are not met, causing the death of both young and mature plants. Caused by pathogens such as Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium debaryanum, Verticillium albo-atrum, Rhizoctonia solani.

Among bacterial diseases, the most common are bacterial cancer(Clavibacter michiganensis), bacterial black spot (Xanthomonas vesicatoria), soft or watery rot of fruits (Pectobacterium carotovorum).
